Early summer in Japan is a beautiful season with many flowers and
greenery. It is also a great season for ayu (sweetfish).
Ayu is rich in nutrients, contains abundant Vitamin A and calcium,
and is very tasty. You can see wild ayu swimming upriver in Hyogo.
In Ayu Park, near the Oya River in Yabu City, you can play in the water,
catch fish and enjoy fishing. You can also eat fish caught there, broiling
them with salt!

【２】 [Let's enjoy festivals in Japan!] Himeji Yukata Festival
(Jun. 22-24, Himeji City)

The Himeji Yukata Festival is an annual celebration held on June 22,
and has 260 years of history. At the venue, about 800 street stands
will be open and parades will be held by children carrying revolving
lanterns and by castle queens. The whole town is colored with various
brilliant yukatas and filled with a fresh atmosphere. This is the
seasonal tradition in Japan!

of friendship between Germany and Japan ~
－－－－－－－－－－－－－－－－－－－－－－－－－－－－－－－－
Early in the 20th century in Munich, Germany, Wassily Kandinsky
formed a group called the Blue Rider with like minded artists in order
to create a new wave of art. He left a brilliant mark in the history of
modern art.
This exhibition introduces the art movement with about 60
representative works, and photos and materials of the day selected
from the best Blue Rider collections of the Lenbachhaus, Munich.

【４】 [Let's enjoy Germany in Kobe!] The Kitano area and a
German wine shop (Kitano, Chuo-ku, Kobe) ~2011 marks the
150th anniversary of friendship between Germany and Japan ~

Kitano, an exotic area, is located in Chuo-ku, Kobe. Visitors will be
fascinated by Ijinkan (a famous tourist spot), traditional old bars, jazz
clubs, cafes and plenty of various foreign restaurants.
One such spot is Rote Rose, a specialty store of German wine where
you can enjoy a German atmosphere. Charity wine for the Great East
Japan Earthquake is also available.

Consultation desk for affected companies, etc.

Hyogo Prefecture has opened a consultation desk to serve the needs of
companies both in and out of Hyogo which have difficulties in
continuing operation due to the damage and influence of the earthquake,
so that they can continue or restart businesses. In addition to recovery
support, we will contribute to the reconstruction of the overall domestic
industries and economic stabilization, for example, by advising risk
dispersion at domestic operation bases to be prepared for disasters.
